Hello, my name is Simon and this is my blog about N scale railway modelling. I live in the UK but I’ve always been fascinated by railways in North America and continental Europe. Unfortunately, I’ve always lacked the space (and money) needed to create the  huge layouts I was seeing in magazines so I started to become interested in modular and small space layouts.

Inspired by websites such as Carl Arendt’s Small Layout Scrapbook, RailPictures.net and BahnBilder.de I started this website to document and record the locations that had the potential to make interesting modules or cameo layouts.

If I was finding them interesting, perhaps other people might be interested and inspired to have a go at creating some modules or cameos themselves.

You can take a look at the locations I’ve found by reading my blog.

In recent months I have also become fascinated by 3D printing; if you’re able to invest the time learning CAD software, 3D printing offers anyone the chance to create high-quality N scale models of prototypes that are unlikely to ever be produced commercially as ready-to-run models or even kits. Unusual tanktainers or N scale Belgian EMU’s anyone?

So I’ll also be documenting my efforts to create 3D models, in particular tanktainers and unusual rolling stock. I’ll also offer some of my creations for sale via my Shapeways store.
